Outside of Engineering Education and Research Center building

Texas Materials Institute together with Microelectronics Research Center (MRC), and the nanomanufacturing fab (nm-Fab) constitute the Texas Nanofabrication Facility (TNF), one of the sixteen NSF National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI) facilities. The purpose of the NNCI sites are to provide specialized, otherwise expensive, nanotechnology resources, and professional expertise to both academic institutions, and small to medium sized commercial sector operations. While MRC mainly offers extensive nanofabrication capabilities, TMI provides state-of-the-art metrology tools, which include advanced electron imaging and scanning probe capabilities, surface analysis, spectroscopy, and structure analysis. TNF also has an extensive outreach component. TMI in particular will contribute to outreach by regularly hosting tours of our facilities, lectures, webinars, and demonstrations on electron microscopy.
