Facility Overview
This facility is used to perform a wide range of mechanical tests on ceramics, metals, polymers, and composites at temperatures from ambient to 1500 C. Properties such as tensile strength, Young's modulus, hardness, fracture toughness, and creep response are measured. Because of the complexity of the equipment, training is required before these facilities can be used.
