An Interdisciplinary materials science and engineering research program
MS & PhD Program
Thrust Areas
One of the main responsibilities of TMI is to provide faculty, students, and researchers access to instrumentation needed for modern materials research. TMI facilities are categorized into one of three areas:
TMI and affiliated research centers such as Center for Nano & Molecular Materials (CNM), and the Microelectronics Research Center (MRC) support central facilities that are of special importance to many researchers studying materials. These facilities are staffed by a facility manager who should be consulted for training, maintenance, or other questions regarding use of this equipment.
These facilities are generally managed by an individual faculty member or a group of faculty members. These faculty should be contacted directly to discuss training and use of this equipment.
Very specialized equipment is often available in the laboratories of individual faculty. These faculty should be contacted directly on a case-by-case basis to discuss availability of this equipment.
This small conference room is located in ETC 8.126. The room has a large conference table that accommodates 10 people with 4 additional stacking chairs for overflow. The room also has a large white board, overhead projector and small tv with video cassette. Reserve the conference room.
To provide easy access for students, faculty, and researchers, facilities are located throughout campus. For an overview of the location of the facilities along with maps, click here.
