Equipment: Scintag X1 theta-theta-theta diffractometer

Description

The Scintag X1 is a theta-theta diffractometer equipped with a Cu X-ray source, fixed slits, and a solid state Peltier cooled detector. Scan range is 2°-150° 2Ɵ. The instrument also has interchangeable stages for heating (to 1200°C) and cooling (LN2), sample rotation, and reflectometry.

Fees

Basic instrument time is charged at $8.10 per hour. Use of high temperature capabilities requires assumption of responsibility for furnace parts.

Facility User Education

System is generally operated by staff, however, in rare instances researchers may use the instrument. Users must have previous facility user education another powder instrument and be individually educated on the use of the Scintag. Education time varies by experiment.
