Equipment: Philips automated vertical scanning general powder diffractometers

Description

The Philips system is comprised of a table-top generator fitted with a Cu X-ray source and two Philips vertical scanning theta-2theta diffractometers. Both diffractometers have variable divergence slits, curved graphite monochromators, and scintillation based detectors. Scans can be obtained from about 2°-110° 2Ɵ.

Fees

Instrument time is charged at $2.10 per hour.

Hours

8am-6pm weekdays. After hours generally available all hours for those with building access.

Facility User Education

Facility user education is provided on an individual basis after completion of TXCLASS OH306 (X-ray Safety). Traning lasts about 2 hours and consists of an introduction to the instrument, its operation, and an overview of analysis software.
